A compact stacked Quasi-fractal microstrip antenna for RFID applications
Authors
Abstract:
In this paper, we propose a new compact quasi-fractal shaped microstrip antenna that consists of a hexagonal patch as the main radiator and a complementary stacked patch as the parasitic element. The overall surface of the proposed quasi-fractal patch is about 55% lower than the conventional hexagonal patch. Using of stacked technique, the gain reduction of compression technique is almost compensated for the proposed antenna while the total gain is reduced only about 1 dBi. Experimental results show that the operation frequency of the microstrip antenna is about 2.5 GHz which covers the microwave frequency band of radio-frequency identification systems.

Compact Microstrip Antenna for Rfid Applications
This work presents a planar antenna for Ultra-HighFrequency (UHF) Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Tags to be applied on metallic surfaces. The proposed radiating structure consists of a short-circuited patch antenna designed with a fractal geometry, resulting in a very compact and cost effective Tag. Showing a very good platform tolerance, such a Tag is also suitable for application on di...

Asymmetric-circular shaped slotted microstrip patch antennas with slits are proposed for circularly polarized(CP) radiation and radio frequency identification reader applications. A single-feed configuration based asymmetric-circular shaped slotted square microstrip patches are adopted to realize the compact circularly polarized microstrip antenna. The CP radiation can be achieved by slightly a...

A novel printed octagonal fractal microstrip antenna with semi-elliptical ground plane is presented for ultra wide band applications. The proposed antenna has a compact size of 20×20×1 mm³. The measured result of the antenna exhibits the ultra wide band characteristics from 2/9 to 14/2 GHz. In this paper, reducing antenna’s size by 35%, the same results were achieved, while small dimension frac...

Abstract—This paper addresses the design of fractal antennas placed onto dielectric object in the UHF RFID band and introduces a tag antenna configuration of simple geometry having impedance tuning capability. Through the paper, the dimensions of the fractal antenna are optimized to improve the impedance matching with the chip impedance. The tag performance changes are studied when it is placed...

In this paper, sierpinski carpet fractal shape antenna for RFID applications is proposed. The proposed antenna has been designed with scaling factor of one-fourth with the aim of reducing antenna size and improved performance parameters. Fractal shaped has been developed to improve the characteristics and to miniaturize the size of proposed antenna. Usually, an antenna works at one or two frequ...
full textEffect of different substrates on Compact stacked square Microstrip Antenna
Selection of the most suitable substrate for a Microstrip antenna is a matter of prime importance. This is because many limitations of the microstrip antenna such as high return loss, low gain and low efficiency can be overcome by selecting an appropriate substrate for fabrication of the antenna, without shifting the resonant frequency significantly. The substate properties such as its dielectr...
